BUILDING WORK
ON SCHEDULE AT CITY CENTRE SCHEME,
September 2006

The Lace Market's
newest city living development is
fast taking shape and the main building
work on the 46 apartments at Lace
Market Square is almost complete.
The Lace Market Square scheme is
perfectly positioned for city chic,
nestling in the heart of the Lace
Market conservation area between the
city centre's Bridlesmith Gate fashion
districts.
Construction on the main structure
will be complete early in the autumn,
then work on the interior and exterior
will continue as well as the innovative
central public piazza, ready for completion
of the whole scheme in spring 2007.
Sean Akins from local developer Bildurn
Properties who are behind the £10m
scheme, and Nick Grace from sole selling
agents, Savills, recently visited
the site and enjoyed panoramic views
from the penthouse apartment.
Nick Grace, Head of New Homes at Savills,
commented: "It's not just the
Lace Market location which is proving
a big draw to purchasers at Lace Market
Square - buyers also love the landscaped
central piazza. Not only does it provide
an attractive centrepiece, but it
also set the apartments apart from
other city schemes. The other things
people like about the development
is the central location and the fact
the apartments have their own parking."
With the number of people living
in Nottingham city centre haven risen
by 40% , this new scheme provides
a central focus in one of the most
sought-after parts of Nottingham,
close to the fashion district of Bridlesmith
Gate and the trendy Lace Market residential
Quarter.
The one, two and three bedroom apartments
and penthouses are all based around
a central 11,000 sq ft public square,
where people can enjoy al fresco dining
or simply relax.
The first open space of its kind
in the Lace Market, its sculptural
metal trees, green foliage and high
quality seating and paving designed
by award winning design team Wolfgang
and Heron.
The apartments at Lace Market Square
will not only include secure allocated
underground parking but secure cycle
parking as well. Still, for those
who prefer to use two feet instead
of two - or four - wheels for transport,
the development is within yards of
one of the city's tram stop, which
whisks travellers to the city's mainline
station (and elsewhere) in minutes.
Prices range from £125,000
for a one-bed, one-bathroom apartment,
to £160,000 - £190,000
for a two-bed, two-bathroom apartment,
all with secure underground parking.

The development is due to be completed
in spring 2007.
