'URBAN OASIS'
OPENS AT LACE MARKET SQUARE, July
2007

Now
that residents are moving into Lace
Market Square, an exciting new show
apartment is being launched on 13
July which has been designed by top
Nottingham interior designer, Louise
Hunt.
Louise, from Your
Space Interiors has created the two-bedroomed
"urban oasis" at the £10m
Nottingham scheme. Louise has taken
her interior design inspiration from
the 11,000 sq ft landscaped central
piazza at the heart of the mixed use/apartment
scheme, plus the very fashionable
yet historical façade of the
Lace Market itself.
The apartments were
completed in June and over half are
already occupied, after 75% of them
were sold off plan. Nottingham based
Bildurn Properties, who developed
the scheme, decided that a show apartment
was the ideal way to introduce the
scheme to potential buyers of the
last few remaining apartments.
As well as the landscaped
piazza, Louise Hunt was inspired by
the exterior architecture of the building,
designed by Franklin Ellis (who have
established a reputation for city
centre regeneration). Both elements
of the scheme are original to the
Nottingham landscape, with a high
quality finish and a thoughtful approach
to the potential owner occupiers and
visitors to the square.
Louise commented:
"The colours we chose for the
two-bedroomed apartment, where we
have made one room into a study, were
inspired by both the material already
being used for the building and the
fashionable colour palette in keeping
with this design style.
"The interior
scheme is contemporary with a relaxing
feel, using natural finishes such
as oak for the bedroom furniture,
plus muted blues, browns and pewter
within the colour scheme and modern
sofas and chairs with clean lines.
Contemporary curtains and blinds were
utilised to frame the oversized windows
that let light flood into the apartment."
"We wanted
to reflect the overall concept for
Lace Market Square within the mood
of the decor. As well as considering
the potential home owners vision for
the home they would like to live in
and how they would like to live there."
Louise also worked
closely with award winning design
duo Wolfgang & Heron who are creating
the landscaping for the unique central
piazza. Artwork within the apartment
includes works by the landscape architect
and artist Fiona Heron, including
some unusual pieces that were the
original ideas for the landscaped
piazza. The public square will have
a true European feel to it ideal for
al fresco dining or just relaxing
on a Sunday afternoon.
On the Square box
and beech green hedging and granite
terraces will be complemented by oak
seating and metal sculptural trees.
The root of the design is the idea
of 'landscape art' enfolding art and
landscape architecture together.
Jane Peake, Sales
Manager at Savill's New Homes Department
added; "We've worked with Louise
Hunt on a number of developments around
Nottingham and we're delighted that
she was commissioned to work on Lace
Market Square. Louise is very talented
and particularly good at identifying
the right look and style for a new
build scheme that helps inspire potential
buyers.
"Lace Market
Square is unique because of its size,
there are only 46 apartments in total,
as well as the fact it overlooks the
Square, and this has already attracted
a mix of purchasers, both owner occupiers
and professionals. Nottingham offers
a great deal in terms of employment
opportunities, salaries and quality
of life, and schemes such as Lace
Market Square provide the perfect
base for those wanting a small exclusive
development combined with city chic
outside of London and other major
cities such as Manchester and Leeds."
Just 11 apartments
are yet to be sold, with prices ranging
from £155,000-£190,000
for the remaining two-bedroom apartments,
available with one and two-bathrooms,
all with secure allocated parking
underground as well as secure cycle
parking.
Potential purchasers
eager to snap up the last few remaining
residences can view the 'sample apartment'
by prior appointment only. To arrange

8020.
