ENTREPRENEUR CHOOSES NOTTINGHAM PIAZZA FOR NEW CONTINENTAL INSPIRED EATERIE, Oct 2007

Dave Caddick, previously Manager of the Living Room is set to open a new continental style Pavilion Bar & Brasserie at Lace Market Square – Nottingham’s soon to be opened 11,000 sq ft landscaped public piazza.
The food led 4,400 sq ft operation will cover two floors with a 60 cover restaurant, bar and outdoor dining area all serving quality Mediterranean style food. Work starts on the Pavilion on 19 November and the new venue will open on 1 March 2008.
Lace Market Square is expected to be a new showcase for Nottingham, combining high quality bar and restaurant accommodation with 46 apartments of which only eight remaining.
Central to Lace Market Square is the public piazza, designed by award-winning landscape architects Wolfgang & Heron. The piazza will bring a new dimension to eating out in this part of the city – with outdoor dining on the Lace Market’s only public square giving a truly continental feel to the scheme.
Dave has 15 years experience the hospitality industry and was recognised this year as one of Experience Nottinghamshire’s Stars when he was made Outstanding Young Manager of the Year for his work at the Living Room.
“This location is perfect for my new brasserie – the whole concept is a relaxed modern Mediterranean style and I wanted a location that reflects this Barcelona style approach. The contemporary design of the piazza and the landscape art will be the ideal setting. As soon as I came across Lace Market Square I knew it was the answer.”
Dave is planning to open three more sites within the city over the next five years. His previous experience includes running one of Manchester's most famous canal-side café bars (part-owned by singer Mick Hucknall) Barca and The Reform Club home to one of Manchester's most exclusive restaurants.
Lace Market Square has been developed by Nottingham developer Bildurn who are also responsible for the £25m leisure and retail scheme nearby, The Pod.
Steve Young from agents Fisher Hargreaves Proctor commented “I am delighted that FHP has been able to secure a quality independent operation for this landmark development. Dave has an exceptional track record within the leisure industry, and I am confident that the concept of this venture, together with his professional approach, will be a perfect addition to The Lace Market Square.”
“This piazza is the finishing touch to the Lace Market and will provide superb facilities to all those who work in the Lace Market and the ever increasing number of residents."
The Pavilion joins London restaurant and bar operator Rocket who are taking 4,500 sq ft plus part of the terrace on the ground floor of the principal building at Lace Market Square.
