MARRIOTT
TIES UP LACEMARKET PROJECT, November
2005
Marriott, part

a major contract for a new mixed-use
development in Nottingham's Lace Market.
This £6.8m
contract for the construction of Bildurn

46 high-quality apartments, retail
and secure underground parking. The
scheme is due to be completed in January
2007.
Founded in 1890, Marriott has grown
from its initial craft-orientated
roots to provide a full and flexible
service across all market sectors
from its offices in Rushden and Nottingham.
Priding itself on
its ability to adapt to the ever-changing
needs of the construction industry,
Marriott has a long established reputation
for quality and service and is committed
to applying the same degree of care
and attention to every project.
The Lace Market
Square development is a contemporary
scheme, designed by Nottingham architects
Franklin Ellis, as well as residential
it will also provide top quality accommodation
for A1 and A3 use, including a glazed
pavilion which is expected to house
a high quality restaurant.
At the heart of
the Lace Market scheme is an 11,000
sq ft public piazza - the first open
space in this historic built up area
which once contained the city's lace
making industry.
Nottingham-based
art and landscape design company Wolfgang
and Heron, are designing the public
space, which will be surfaced in high
quality materials with soft landscaping
features, pieces of art and quality
outdoor furniture.
