BOOST
FOR RETAIL TEAM , March
2006
Bildurn has appointed retail specialists
Fisher Hargreaves Proctor as agents
for The Pod, the new Nottingham
£25m retail development.
Fisher Hargreaves Proctor join
London's CBRE (previously known
as Dalgleish) the UK's leading
retail property agents, in marketing
the scheme.
The Pod's
108,000 sq ft will house three
levels of large retail units
aimed at the fashion sector
and larger space users. A 142
bedroom hotel - the most central
hotel in Nottingham - will occupy
the upper floors.
The eye-catching
new scheme will provide a central
focus in one of the most sought-after
parts of Nottingham, linking
the fashion district of Bridlesmith
Gate to the trendy Lace Market
which also features new retail
units at One Fletcher Gate (also
being marketed by Fisher Hargreaves
Proctor).
Sean Akins, Director at developers
Bildurn Properties commented:
"The appointment of Fisher
Hargreaves Proctor is key to
our marketing strategy for The
Pod. They have an excellent
track record in Nottingham and
are responsible for bringing
some of the best quality retail
names to the city such as Zara,
Hugo Boss, Kurt Geiger, Flannels,
Paul Smith and Fred Perry."
Fisher Hargreaves Proctor's
Retail Department is headed
up by David Hargreaves and specialises
in retail agency development
and acquisitions, predominantly
in the East Midlands. Fisher
Hargreaves Proctor is particularly
strong in the Nottingham city
centre market, where David and
his team of Ben Tebbutt, Alan
Pearson and David Sandercock
have been responsible for more
than 75% of lettings or acquisitions
on Bridlesmith Gate and the
surrounding streets. Fisher
Hargreaves Proctor is also advising
Westfield, the world's largest
shopping centre owner, on the
£400m redevelopment of
Nottingham's Broadmarsh Centre.
David Hargreaves
commented "The Pod is a
very exciting addition to Nottingham's
retail scene as there is a lack
of larger retail space within
this part of the city. With
its location adjacent to Bridlesmith
Gate, The Lace Market and Hockley
Village, the proximity to the
Fletcher Gate car park and Tram
and its striking contemporary
architecture we are confident
that this scheme will bring
something quite unique to the
city and attract top quality
retailers to the City."
Construction on site proper
commenced January 2006 with
handover due in July 2007.
